Aykin Shipping. Safety, Quality, and Environmental Protection (SQE) Policy
This policy outlines Aykin Shipping.'s commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees and contractors, preventing injuries and fatalities, protecting the marine environment, and ensuring pollution-free operations.
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees and contractors of Aykin Shipping. and covers all aspects of the company's operations, including but not limited to:
- Shipboard operations
- Shore-based activities
- Interactions with third parties
Objectives:
- Safety:
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
- Identify and assess all potential hazards and risks.
- Implement appropriate safeguards to mitigate identified risks.
- Continuously improve safety awareness and operational skills through comprehensive training and instruction.
- Coordinate effective responses to both safety and environmental emergencies.
- Quality:
- Maintain the highest quality standards in all operations.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations consistently.
- Continuously improve operational processes and procedures.
- Environmental Protection:
- Minimize the environmental impact of operations.
- Prevent pollution of the marine environment.
- Comply with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.

- Compliance:
- Comply with all applicable national and international laws, regulations, and standards, including the International Safety Management (ISM) Code and the requirements of the relevant Flag State Administrations.
Management Commitment:
Management is fully committed to implementing and maintaining this SQE Policy.
- Management will provide the necessary resources and support to ensure the effective implementation of the SMS.
- The Designated Person Ashore (DPA) will be responsible for the supervision and maintenance of the SMS.
- All personnel are responsible for adhering to this policy and contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Aykin Shipping. is committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of its operations. Regular internal audits, management reviews, and feedback mechanisms will be utilized to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Communication:
This policy will be communicated to all employees and contractors, and its contents will be readily accessible to all personnel.
This policy serves as a framework for all operational activities and demonstrates Aykin Shipping.'s commitment to safety, quality, and environmental protection.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY – DRUGS AND ALCOHOL
To stay faithful to its commitment to fostering harmonious community relations and guaranteeing that business is conducted efficiently and productively, the Company has adopted a zero tolerance policy with regard to drugs and alcohol.
Consequently, all personnel, visitors, and subcontractors assigned to the Company are formally prohibited from trafficking, selling, distributing, consuming or carrying, in the Aykin Shipping office, vessels or any other facilities belonging to the Company, alcohol, drugs, narcotics or medication other than that prescribed by a doctor or bought over the counter.
Carrying or consuming alcohol or any other illegal substance is prohibited while commuting to the workplace and using transportation provided by the Company or any other means of transport, during or after working hours.
When employees use facilities belonging to other persons or entities, they must fully comply with their drug and alcohol policies.
Aykin Shipping intends to rigorously apply the policy it has adopted in regard to the consumption of alcohol and illegal substances. Without limiting the generality of the following, the Company reserves the right to conduct a search at any time, if it suspects this policy has been violated, of any package, cargo, bag or personal effect to be sent to the accommodations or workplace.
The Company reserves the right to dismiss, immediately and without notice, any employee who violates this policy, and they may be required to leave the workplace at their own expense
Aykin Shipping Social Media Policy
1. Scope
This policy applies to all employees of Aykin Shipping ("the Company") and governs the use of all social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Google+, MySpace, blogs, and any other online forums. This policy applies regardless of whether social media is accessed using company equipment or personal devices and whether it is used during work hours or personal time.
2. Employee Responsibilities
Employees are responsible for the content of their social media posts. This includes ensuring that their posts are not:
- Defamatory: Causing harm to the reputation of others.
- Harassing: Creating a hostile or offensive environment for others.
- In violation of any applicable law: Including but not limited to copyright, privacy, and data protection laws.
- Disclosing confidential information: Revealing sensitive company information or information belonging to third parties.
3. Company Expectations
Employees are expected to:
- Use social media responsibly and professionally.
- Avoid posting any information that could damage the company's reputation.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Represent the company positively in all online interactions.
4. Consequences of Violation
Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
5. Disclaimer
This policy does not restrict employees' rights to express their personal views on matters of public concern. However, employees must avoid using company resources or creating the impression that they are speaking on behalf of the company when expressing personal opinions.
